Frequently Asked Questions
Travel Advisor FAQ
As a boutique travel advisor and culinary travel specialist, I help travelers plan unforgettable, stress-free food and culture journeys with insider tips, perks, and upgrades. Whether you’re dreaming of a solo escape, a couple’s retreat, or a group adventure, here’s everything you need to know about working with me.
What Does a Travel Advisor Do?
Think of me as your personal insider, advocate, and guide. I handle the research, booking, and logistics so you can focus on enjoying your trip. You’ll also unlock travel perks and curated experiences that aren’t available when booking on your own.
Why Should I book with You Instead of an Online Booking Site?
Personalized Service
I help plan your dream vacation while keeping your budget in mind. No pressure, no stress—just the perfect getaway you can truly enjoy.
Insider Access & Perks
The biggest perk is saving hours in the planning process and gaining some insider info along the way. You will also have access to exclusive benefits through Virtuoso, Four Seasons Preferred, Hyatt Privé, and more — including room upgrades, daily breakfast, early check-in, late check-out, and resort credits.
Food & Culture Focus
Travel through your palate. From private cooking classes and vineyard tastings to Michelin-level dining and hidden local markets, I craft itineraries that bring destinations to life through their flavors.
Tailored to You
Every trip is designed around your travel style and interests — whether that means boutique hotels, immersive tours, or a balance of exploration and downtime.
How does an advisor earn money?
Hotels and other travel providers pay advisors a commission on anything they book, at no additional cost to the traveler. Travel advisors also sometimes charge a planning fee for customized itineraries or more complicated trips.
Do You Charge a Fee?
Hotel and airfare bookings: No planning fee. You get all the perks at the same (or better) rate than booking direct.
Custom itineraries & group travel: Planning fees apply for more complex trips, starting at $250, depending on the scope. This covers research, logistics, and personal support from start to finish. For example, a 10-day multi-city vacation with activities for a family of four will incur a fee depending on the specifics. However, the honeymoon to Hawaii with just air, hotel, and transportation will not incur a fee.
Do You Only Book Hotels?
No, I can book a host of other travel-related activities. Here are just a few of the things I can book besides hotels:
Transportation: airfare, rental cars, airport transfers
Rail travel & cruises
Homes & villas
Immersive workshops and classes
Museum passes & live event tickets
Guided and self-guided day tours
Multiday tours
In a Nutshell
If you want insider perks, personalized experiences, and stress-free planning, working with a travel advisor like me makes all the difference.
